Biography

Sarah Taylor, Au.D., CCC-A, is a certified clinical audiologist who practices at Children’s Health℠. She cares for children of all ages who experience hearing loss and balance disorders.

Audiologists specialize in providing diagnostic, rehabilitative and other services for conditions that affect hearing and balance. They use tests to diagnose and treat these problems using techniques such as hearing aids, balance therapy or hearing rehabilitation. They also work closely with ear, nose and throat physicians (otolaryngologists) to care for the medical causes of hearing problems.

Dr. Taylor received a Doctorate of Audiology through the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City in 2017. She earned a Bachelor of Science in speech-language pathology from the University of Tulsa in 2013.

She holds a certificate of clinical competence in the field of audiology through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Dr. Taylor’s clinical and research interests include vestibular assessment and treatment, electrophysiology, universal newborn hearing screening, and cochlear implants and auditory brainstem implants.

At Children’s Medical Center, Dr. Taylor sees patients in the Pediatric Audiology and Pediatric Ear, Nose and Throat departments.

To evaluate and treat children who have hearing and balance disorders, she uses a variety of techniques, including pediatric acoustic reflex  auditory brainstem response, conditioned play audiometry, otoacoustic emissions and visual reinforcement audiometry.

Dr. Taylor also serves as a faculty associate with UT Southwestern.

In the community, Dr. Taylor enjoys volunteer work. She has participated with the Special Olympics Hearing Screening program, the “We Can Hear You Now!” race in Kansas City to benefit children’s hearing and the “Theta World Cup” event for Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).

Dr. Taylor is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.
