Biography
Munes Fares, M.D. is a pediatric cardiologist at Children's Health℠ and is an assistant professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Fares specializes in advanced imaging and fetal cardiology.
Dr. Fares earned his medical degree at Damascus University in Syria. After completing his residency in pediatrics at Marshall University, he received advanced training through a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Case Western Reserve University and through a fellowship in advanced pediatric cardiac imaging at UT Southwestern and Children's Medical Center Dallas.
Dr. Farers research interest is in advancing new techniques for fetal cardiac imaging using fetal cardiac MRI. He is also invested in developing new methods of myocardial perfusion and stress testing using cardiac MRI. He has particular interest in noninvasive imaging, such as echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, fetal echocardiography, cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, 3D imaging, and 3D printing.
In his spare time, Dr. Fares' is interested in reading, traveling and cooking.
