Intractable epilepsy is a type of seizure disorder in which the child's seizures cannot be controlled.
When a child has intractable epilepsy, this means they have a seizure disorder that cannot be controlled with treatment. In many cases, this condition interferes with the person’s quality of life. For example, a child with intractable epilepsy should be especially careful while swimming or walking near busy streets or railway platforms since a seizure can occur at any time.
The main symptom of intractable epilepsy is seizures that have not been responsive to various typical seizure treatments.
