What is Pediatric Epididymitis?

Epididymitis is an inflammation of the coiled tube (epididymis) located on the back of the testicle that stores and carries sperm. This condition can occur in males of any age.

What are the signs and symptoms of Pediatric Epididymitis?

  • Blood in the semen
  • Discharge from the penis
  • Enlarged lymph nodes in the groin
  • Lump on the testicle
  • Pain and tenderness of the testicle, usually on one side
  • Pain in the lower abdomen or pelvic area
  • Pain when urinating
  • Painful intercourse or ejaculation
  • Urinary urgency and/or frequency
  • Swollen, red or warm scrotum
