Biography

David Troendle, M.D., is a board certified gastroenterologist at Children’s Health℠ who specializes in pediatric endoscopy and pediatric pancreatic disorders. He is the Director of Pediatric Endoscopy and the Director of the Pediatric Pancreas Center. He is also an Associate Professor of pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Dr. Troendle earned his medical degree from UT Southwestern, where he later completed his pediatric residency and fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology.

Dr. Troendle has clinical interests in advanced therapeutic endoscopy in children, including endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS).

He’s received various awards for clinical research in pediatric endoscopy, including the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Endoscopy Prize on several occasions.

Dr. Troendle is currently studying technical and clinical outcomes in pediatric endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) while evaluating training techniques to use in advanced therapeutic endoscopy for pediatric practitioners. He is also a participant in the INSPPIRE consortium, an NIH sponsored international collaborative dedicated to studying ways to better diagnose, evaluate and treat pediatric pancreatitis.
