Biography

Alexandra K. Callan M.D., is a board certified musculoskelatal oncologist and is an assistant professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Callan specializes in patient with sarcomas, metastatic bone disease, complex joint replacements and other soft tissue and bone tumors of the body.

Dr. Callan's research interests include outcomes in orthopaedic oncology, limb salvage techniques for osteosarcoma and Ewing sarcoma, metastatic bone disease, and quality of life in musculoskeletal oncology. She is a member of the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society, the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. 

Prior to her career in medicine, Dr. Callan spent three years with Teach For America, teaching high school science and coaching volleyball, basketball, and softball. In her free time, she enjoys wakeboarding, live music, snowboarding, travel, and adventure.
